The ATREC homepage lists all position in date order, from most recent to least recent, irrespective of the location or the job category. To assist job seekers in identifying positions in a certain location, or within a certain field, ATREC provides a Job Searching Panel on the left hand side of the screen. This allows job seekers to search for positions using the following options:
STATE: This will return positions that are only located in a particular State (Or Country, NZ)
and/or by;
REGION: This will return positions located in either Metropolitan or Regional areas
and/or by;
JOB CATEGORY: This will return positions based on the line of work preferences shown below
| Office & Admin: For all office, administration and operations based positions | |
| Stable Staff & Track Riders: For all stable positions including Stable Hands, Track Work Riders, Foremen etc. | |
| Stud Staff: For all Stud Staff including Stud Hands, Riders, Foreman etc | |
| Other: For all other positions such as Transportation, Veterinary, Hospitality etc |
Once you have selected preferences from some or all of the above options hit the 'Search' button.
There is also a 'Most Popular' button, which allows you to quickly identify the positions that have received the most interest.
To reset the search options and to be returned to the homepage, click the 'Reset' button at any time.
To view job descriptions for any listing, simply click on that listing. Here you will find the job description and details for applications. Attachments providing further information on the position can also be found here, if submitted by the advertiser.
To submit a vacant position on ATREC, click on the 'Employers' tab, on the left hand side. This takes you to the ?Employers? page where information is displayed on submitting a position.
From here click on the 'Submit a Position' button on the left hand side panel, this will take you to the online form, needed to submit a position.
Please Note: Positions are routinely published at the beginning and end of each business day; however depending on the day, positions may be published more regularly.
To ensure that inappropriate positions and offensive material is not displayed on the ARB website, each job is individually approved by a quick visual scan prior to the position being uploaded.
What is ATREC?
ATREC is a web-based platform that allows employers within the racing industry to advertise positions free of charge. It has also been developed to assist job seekers looking for employment with the racing industry. The main aims of ATREC are to promote, encourage and strengthen employment within the racing industry and to assist both industry employers and job seekers.
Who runs ATREC?
ATREC was established and is also controlled by the Australian Racing Board.
How much money does it cost to advertise a position on ATREC?
ATREC has been established as a service to the racing industry and there are no costs associated with advertising a position.
Who can advertise on ATREC?
Any employer that has a vacant position in, or relating to, the Australian or New Zealand racing industry can advertise on ATREC.
Is ATREC a recruitment agency?
ATREC is not a recruitment agency; it is a web-based platform that provides a vehicle for industry employers to reach job seekers and to give job seekers information on a number of available positions.
Why does the position I submitted not get published immediately?
Each position has to be individually reviewed, to ensure that the position is relevant to the racing industry and to prevent the publishing of inappropriate material.
How often are positions reviewed and published?
Positions are reviewed and published at the beginning and end of each business day. However, dependant on the amount of work during that day, positions may be reviewed and published more frequently.
How do I know when my position has been published?
ATREC will send you an email notification once your position has been approved and published.
How long will my position be advertised for?
The position will remain for a period of 21 days (3 weeks).
The position has not been filled, can the listing be extended?
Yes, when your position is nearing the expiry date, you will receive an email notification alerting you that your listing is about to expire. If you would like to extend the listing, you can send an email to atrec@australian-racing.net.au, with the word ?extend? along with the job reference number in the subject heading.
Why does it ask me to fill out a job description?
The job description is important for outlining the position for job seekers. The more information you supply, the more chance you will have of attracting applications.
Why does it ask me to attach a job description?
Attaching a job description is optional, however it provides an opportunity for the advertiser to attach a previous Microsoft Word or PDF document, that they have created, relating to the position available.
Why do I have to enter in my contact details twice?
The first set of contact details are for ATREC use only and are not published or given out. The email address is used to pass on correspondence to the advertiser, notifying them when the position has been published and notifying them when the position is about to expire. The contact name and phone number are needed in case there is a problem with the position submitted and also as a security measure. The second set of contact details are for applications as employers may prefer a certain method for receiving applications; these details may also be different to the information required earlier.
I have entered in details for a position, why won?t it let me submit it?
Before a position can be submitted, you need to have entered in the required information. You also need to agree to the Terms & Conditions before the position can be submitted. To view the Terms & Conditions, click on the link available. To accept the Terms & Conditions, click on the checkbox.
What is the Reference number used for?
Every job that is published receives a unique reference number. This reference number is used to identify your position should you need it altered, extended or removed.
The position has already been filled, how do I remove it from ATREC?
If you would like a position removed, simply send an email to atrec@australian-racing.net.au asking for the position to be removed, quoting the reference number.
